Bird Dog Hunting Classes

YOU AND YOUR DOG are invited to enroll in monthly classes that progressively advance both dog and handler abilities.

Level One - Basic Obedience and Bird Exposure
This package will set the precedence for any training done by anyone during the dog's lifetime.  It will instill a pack leadership mentality with the dog so they are open to training during all stages of development.  Bird exposure will help to break the monotony of the general obedience objectives of heal, come, sit or stand still, and stay.  Bird exposure will also allow for the introduction of the gun.

Level Two- (Retrieving Breeds Only) Collar Conditioning and "Remote Sit" This package will introduce the e-collar to the dog in a way that instills the positive aspects of the device.  The dog will have an opportunity to associate the collar with positive physical activity and not solely as a correction device.  When introduced correctly the dog should welcome the collar because it should associate it with physical activity doing tasks that the dog was bred to do.  The dog should look to the collar to give direction in the form of e-commands and not solely as a device used to correct acknowledged disobedience.

Level Three- Trained Retrieve
This package will create a finished retrieve which is to hand at all times.  Many dogs will have a natural retrieve in which they will retrieve game most of the time to within five to ten feet away from the handler.  This package will enforce the need to retrieve, on command, back to hand at all times.  This training instills a correction that is known to the dog so confusion of the objective is not a concern.

Level Four- (Retrieving Breeds Only) Sit-To-Scent / Point
